Zucchetti.Kos: Innovation and Italian Style in the Bathroom
Zucchetti's history begins in 1929 thanks to a foundry born in Valduggia (Vercelli, Italy), today it is recognized as a spokesman of "Made in Italy" thanks to its experience in its creation of innovative and top quality products.
Richard McClintock, a Latin scholar from Hampden-Sydney College, is credited with discovering the source behind the ubiquitous filler text. In seeing a sample of lorem ipsum, his interest was piqued by consectetur—a genuine, albeit rare, Latin word. Consulting a Latin dictionary led McClintock to a passage from De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum (“On the Extremes of Good and Evil”), a first-century B.C. text from the Roman philosopher Cicero.

The Birth of Kos and the Collaboration with Ludovica+Roberto Palomba
Kos was founded in 1998 as a company specializing in whirlpool baths and multifunctional shower enclosures, and later, in 2001, teaming up with Ludovica+Roberto Palomba (designer and art director, respectively) they added to their production items such as bathtubs, multifunctional enclosures, shower trays, and washbasins with sculptural aesthetics and innovative ergonomics, capable of typologically and morphologically reinventing the bathroom environment.
The Acquisition by Zucchetti
In 2007 Kos, given their shared values, is acquired by Zucchetti still representing, thanks to their design solutions, icons of the contemporary bathroom, not only for their aesthetics, but also for the attention to detail and cutting-edge technologies employed.
